What is Ghostwriting?
If
you have ever picked up a book by an actor, a musician or a news personality,
then you have probably already had some experience with a ghostwriter. The former knows what needs to be said
while the latter knows how to say it.
Essentially, the ghostwriter acts as a scribe for whoever is the
credited author.
Ghostwriting
falls into two categories and the contract depends on credit or non-credit
writing, and is negotiable according to the circulation type.
For
example, a ghostwriting contract for a non-credit authorship will cost the
credited author more than if credit is shared. The fee will also be based on the number
of copies to be printed, as well as the main market (e.g., academic or
commercial).
